About Virginia's Heartland Alliance

A Regional Partnership for Growth

Connecting People. Strengthening Communities.

We connect people, partners, and opportunities to make Virginia’s Heartland a place where businesses grow, families thrive, and communities prosper.

Virginia’s Heartland Alliance (VaHA) unites community leaders across Buckingham, Charlotte, Cumberland, Lunenburg, Nottoway, and Prince Edward counties to grow opportunity, retain talent, and build a vibrant regional economy. Together, public and private partners advance authentic, balanced progress — where innovation meets preservation and success in one community strengthens the entire region.

Established in 2024, VaHA grew from a shared vision among regional leaders through the Commonwealth Regional Council to strengthen coordination and expand opportunity across Central Virginia and Southern Virginia

As a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit public-private partnership, VaHA advances Virginia economic development through regional collaboration, strengthening communities and supporting long-term growth across the Heartland.
